Home Visits
We want patients to visit the surgery where we have all the right tools, but we know it’s not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling reception before 10:30.
You can ask for a home visit if you can’t leave your house or are too sick to come in. The doctor will decide if you need a visit and how quickly. Be ready to give details about your problem. Someone from the practice will call you.

DNA’s – Did not attend
The Jalal practice prides itself on providing our patients with good and rapid access to appointments.
Over the last few months it has been noted that a proportion of patients are booking appointments but not attending.
Most patients keep their appointments, but some do not attend (DNA). Missing three appointments without notice will result in removal from the practice list after two warnings. This helps us serve all patients better. Parents receive warnings for children. Please help us reduce DNAs.
How to manage your appointment.
- When you book your appointment please make it on a day and time that you will be able to attend.
- Make a note of the date and time in your diary, calendar, or somewhere.
- If you are held up or unable to attend then phone and cancel or re-book the appointment.
We offer a text message reminder service. Please provide an up to date mobile number.
Non-urgent advice: When We are Closed
When the surgery is closed, call 0161 271 3170 for a message on how to contact a doctor. If you need urgent help, call NHS 111. They can tell you what to do, connect you to a nurse, dentist, pharmacist, or GP, or give you an A&E time if needed. They will also help you get medicine or self-care advice.
