I have been at this practice since 2014. I am the clinical director for our PCN ( primary care network)

I also do minor surgery at the practice.

I joined the practice in 2014 and enjoy the variety of work general practice has to offer. I am the practice safeguarding lead and also run the baby clinic with our practice nurse.

Lucy has recently joined our surgery working as a registered nurse and has additional training for diagnosing and prescribing. In general practice ANP's can consult work independently and consult medical colleagues if needed.

Practice Nurses have a wealth of experience in managing Chronic Diseases such as Diabetes, Asthma, COPD, Hypertension and Cardiovascular Disease. They provide a wide range of services including routine health checks and annual treatment reviews. They are also experienced in other practice nursing specialities such as smear tests, contraception advice, immunisation for babies and adults, travel vaccinations and other routine injections and procedures.

Alex is our Healthcare Assistant and has long history in general practice.

She is supportive in her approach to a wide range of tasks including taking bloods, blood pressure, smoking, weight management, flu and pneumococcal vaccinations, B12 injections, health checks and much more!

Julie joined the surgery in January 2021. Julie has worked in Manchester as a Practice Manager in various GP surgeries over the last 21 years.

The Practice Manager is involved in managing all of the business aspects of the practice such as ensuring the right systems are in place to provide a high quality of patient care, human resources, finance, patient safety, premises and equipment and information technology. The Practice Manager supports the GPs and other medical professionals with delivering patient services and also helps to develop extended services to enhance patient care.

Receptionists provide an important link for patients with the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits.

We are pleased to welcome a new clinician to our expanding team. 

Ramish Ali is our Physician Associate. She is a medically trained, generalist healthcare professional, who works alongside doctors and provides medical care as an integral part of our multidisciplinary team.

Physician associates are practitioners working with a dedicated medical supervisor but are available to work autonomously with appropriate support.

What Do Physician Associates Do?

Physician associates work within a defined scope of practice and limits of competence. They:

• take medical histories from patients
• carry out physical examinations
• see patients with undifferentiated diagnoses
• see patients with long-term chronic conditions
• formulate differential diagnoses and management plans
• perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
• develop and deliver appropriate treatment and management plans
• request and interpret diagnostic studies
• provide health promotion and disease prevention advice for patients.

Currently, physician associates are not able to:

• prescribe
• request ionising radiation (e.g., chest x-ray or CT scan).

The role of a clinical pharmacist is to work as part of the General Practice team to provide highly qualified expertise in medications carrying out structured reviews for patients with ongoing health problems and patient safety.

PHARMACY TECHNICIAN

Katie Heywood 

Pharmacy Technicians play an important role within General Practice complementing the work of Clinical Pharmacists. They undertake clinical audits, issue prescriptions and where appropriate provide information to patients and other members of the practice. Pharmacy Technicians are usually supervised by a Clinical Pharmacist as part of the practice team.

Clinics are based at the Integrated Care Centre (Mon – Fri). Patients can only be seen with a pre-booked appointment. Clinics include ear syringing, wound dressing, stitch removal.
